A change?

I have worked a little on ERI. but still need to do more. I will put a black paper behind her, trimiming it to show just a little, then mount the figure on a sheet of green, bordered with a gold stamped border using a stamp I just carved. The stamp was made from the border of a piece of scrapbook paper with a few minor changes.
Elizabeth doesn't look too happy  ---- maybe she is listening to a courtier spinning some story about what she should do. I think that I might try to do her again although I might use another version.  Then again I might just go on to other, imaginary, people and see who they turn out to be.

More TV art. I am having fun with colors and keeping occupied while the TV is running. These are small pieces, 3"x5" or so. I don't know what I will do with them but I might mount them and display them in the house or even try to sell them.

Today we went to Lowe's to purchase some electrical outlets and covers and I elected to stay in the car. Dean had parked beside these roses. There are five bushes, with red stems, green leaves and yellow blooms. As you can see, the buds are a deep yellow gold tipped with coral, the blooms open buttery yellow and then they begin to soften to ivory. Finally there are lovely coral hips. I think that I will try to find some to plant at my house. These were breathtakingly lovely even though not groomed and tossing in the wind.

I have decided that if I am going to continue drawing and painting I am going to have to get more serious about it, take it as a "calling" or vocation and really spend time working on it instead of approaching it as a dilettante. That means getting up each morning and whipping through some house work and then getting myself to the studio (well, since the studio is not heated it will mean getting to the pantry where there is a long counter that will serve as a studio for the winter). This will be a big change for me, mentally as well as physically. I hope that it works. Wish me well, please.

All is well,
XOXOXO
Caroline
